Luxwood Homes manufactures and installs transportable and modular buildings, including changeroom and amenities buildings, mining accommodation camps, education facilities and other commercial projects.

We are looking for a practical, motivated Leading Hand / All-Rounder who enjoys working alongside a team, taking responsibility and keeping jobs moving. This role combines hands-on workshop work with coordinating people and materials, driving production targets and assisting with installations on project sites.

You will work closely with management to turn production plans into completed buildings—making sure the team knows what needs doing, materials and contractors are ready, and work progresses safely and to the required standard.

This is not a desk-based management position. We need someone who is comfortable picking up the tools while also keeping an eye on the overall job.

What you will be doing

- Driving production targets: Organise daily tasks and priorities, monitor progress against agreed schedules and help resolve issues before they hold up production.

- Leading from the workshop floor: Work alongside the team on building, assembly and general workshop tasks, providing practical direction and setting a strong example.

- Planning ahead: Make sure materials, components, tools and equipment are ready for upcoming work. Identify shortages early and communicate purchasing and delivery requirements to management.

- Coordinating employees and contractors: Help sequence work, confirm contractor arrangements and ensure work areas are ready so trades can complete their tasks efficiently.

- Assisting with site installations: Help prepare buildings for dispatch and participate in on-site installation, assembly and completion work. Travel to project sites will form part of the role as required.

- Maintaining quality and safety: Check workmanship, address practical problems and help maintain a protected, tidy and organised workshop and installation site.

Some basic planning, progress reporting and record-keeping will be required,



but the focus is on being actively involved in the work and helping the team deliver.

Who we are looking for

You will bring practical experience in construction, carpentry, fabrication, manufacturing or a similar hands-on environment. Previous leading hand or supervisory experience would be well regarded, although we also welcome applications from capable tradespeople ready to take the next step.

Licences and experience

Essential: A current driver’s licence and a valid White Card (Construction Induction).

Desirable, but not essential: Welding experience and a current forklift licence.
