Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory & Tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving problems and developing their technical expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Role
Working closely with Managers and Directors, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients and have the prospect to work on a range of tax, accounting and business advisory matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns and financial statements for a diverse range of entities
- Preparing and reviewing BAS, GST and FBT returns
- Providing clients with practical advice on accounting and taxation matters
- Identifying and addressing tax technical issues
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Assisting and supporting junior team members
- Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex client matters
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment and the continued growth of our Business Advisory & Tax services
About You
We are looking for someone who is technically capable, commercially minded and enjoys building strong client relationships.
You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
- 3+ years’ experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Completed or be nearing completion of CA or CPA
- Strong Australian tax and accounting knowledge
- Experience with tax technical issues and complex client structures
- Experience dealing directly with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
- A professional, approachable and personable manner
- An interest in developing and mentoring less experienced team members
