Bunya Care Caboolture is growing, and we are looking for female Disability Support Workers to join our established team as we expand our supports across Burpengary, Caboolture and the wider Moreton Bay region.

With new Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports commencing, we are looking for reliable, down-to-earth and genuinely engaged people who understand that great support is about much more than simply turning up for a shift.

Our team supports people to build independence, stay connected to their community, feel safe and comfortable in their own home, and have genuine choice and control over how they live their lives.

These casual roles will include a mix of SIL, in-home supports and community access , with shifts available across weekdays, weekends and sleepovers.

Key responsibilities

- Providing respectful, person-centred support within participants' homes and in the community

- Supporting daily living routines, personal care, meal preparation and household tasks

- Supporting participants to access their community, appointments, activities and social opportunities

- Encouraging independence, choice and participation rather than doing things for people where they can be supported to do them themselves

- Building positive, professional and consistent relationships with participants and their families





- Supporting participants with complex needs, behaviours of concern or psychosocial disability where applicable

- Following individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and organisational procedures

- Completing explicit and accurate shift notes, incident documentation and other required records

- Working collaboratively with other members of the participant's support team

- Maintaining professional boundaries while still being warm, approachable and genuinely engaged

What we are looking for

- Calm and confident, particularly when situations don't go exactly to plan

- Warm, personable and able to build genuine rapport

- Professional without being clinical or impersonal

- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

- Respectful of participant choice, dignity, privacy and individual routines

- Willing to learn and take feedback

- Available across a combination of weekdays, weekends and sleepovers

Experience supporting people with any of the following would be highly regarded:

- Autism and intellectual disability

- Mental health and psychosocial disability

- Complex support needs

- Supported Independent Living

- Behaviour support

- Community access and independence-building

Experience is valued, but we also know that qualifications alone don't make a great Support Worker. Consistency, good judgement, reliability and the ability to genuinely connect with the person you are supporting are just as important to us.

You will need, or be willing to obtain

- NDIS Worker Screening / Yellow Card

- Blue Card

- Current First Aid and CPR

- NDIS Worker Orientation Modules





- Current driver's licence

- Comprehensive vehicle insurance

- A reliable, clean and presentable vehicle suitable for participant transport

- Appropriate Australian working rights
