Ninja Stadium/Cricket Tasmania is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Chefs to join our hospitality team for the 2026/2027 cricket season. From Hobart Hurricanes match days to major events and functions, you’ll play an important role in creating exceptional food experiences at one of Tasmania’s premier sporting venues.

About the role

As a member of our Kitchen Operations team, you’ll support food service across our function spaces, Hurricanes Café, match days, and special events. You’ll work alongside a dedicated hospitality team in a fast-paced environment, where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with food preparation and plating
- Supporting café and event food service
- Delivering food service on match days and at major events
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Supporting the Head Chef and kitchen team during busy service periods
- Assisting with stock rotation,



cleaning and general kitchen duties

What We’re Looking For

- Enjoy working in a quick-paced hospitality environment
- Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Can work evenings, weekends, and event days throughout the cricket season
- Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Have strong attention to detail and remain calm under pressure
- Have experience in commercial kitchens, catering, or cafes (preferred but not essential)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or relevant experience
- Have completed Food Safety Supervisor Training
- Hold a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (or willingness to obtain)
