St Patrick's College Townsville is seeking an organised, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our community as a Food Technology Assistant , commencing Term 4, 2026 . This is a part‑time position with a minimum 15 hours per week, additional hours available based on operational requirements.

This is an exciting prospect to support our dynamic Food Technology Faculty and contribute to engaging, practical learning experiences for students. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, you will play a key role in ensuring classes are well‑prepared, safe and effectively resourced, while also supporting catering and food preparation requirements across the College.

About the Role

As the Food Technology Assistant, you will provide practical and operational support to the Food Technology Faculty. You will be responsible for preparing resources for practical lessons, maintaining kitchen facilities and equipment, managing stock and supplies, and supporting catering and hospitality activities across the College.

Key responsibilities include:

- Prepare and coordinate resources for Food Technology and Hospitality classes.
- Support practical learning activities and classroom operations.
- Maintain kitchen facilities, equipment and learning resources.
- Manage stock, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards are maintained.




- Assist with catering and College events as required.
- Support the effective day‑to‑day operation of the Food Technology Department.

About You

You are a proactive and organised professional who:

- Has experience in food preparation, hospitality, catering or a related environment.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Has knowledge of food handling, food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Builds positive working relationships with staff, students and external suppliers.
- Takes pride in maintaining organised, safe and welcoming learning environments.
- Is committed to supporting student learning, child safeguarding and the values of Catholic education.
