School Officer Level 2

All Souls St Gabriels School is seeking a passionate and culturally capable Indigenous Support Officer to support First Nations students and families within our day and boarding community.

Working closely with the Dean of Students, residential staff, teachers, families, and community organisations, you will play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, facilitating successful transitions into school and boarding life and building strong connections between home, community and school.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting the wellbeing and pastoral care of First Nations students
- Assisting students and families during transition to school and boarding
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with families, communities, and support agencies
- Coordinating access to support services, appointments, funding programs and student documentation
- Monitoring student wellbeing and assisting with early intervention and support strategies
- Supporting key cultural events and initiatives, including NAIDOC celebrations
- Maintaining accurate records and assisting with administrative processes
- Oversee administrative processes associated with QATSIF funding and student support initiatives.
- Support the coordination of ABSTUDY Travel requirements, including Safe Travel Plan administration.




- Work collaboratively with the Head of Inclusive Education to provide academic and learning support for students.

About You

You will have:

- Significant experience working with First Nations students, families, and communities
- Strong cultural competence and the ability to build trusted relationships
- High-level communication, administration, and organisational skills
- The ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism
- Strong computer literacy and attention to detail
- A current Queensland Blue Card and the right to work in Australia
