About the Role

CareSouth are currently seekingCasual SupervisedContact Workers to join theCareSouthGriffith team.

Are you a person with mature lifeexperience? Do you have a background working withchildren and young people? Perhaps you’re a retirededucation worker or child protection/welfare sector professional,or even a person with foster care experience? Thisposition would be ideal for a person who has experience workingwith children and is looking to step into a casual role to suit amore flexible lifestyle.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Supervised Contact Worker isresponsible for providing high quality supervision for visitsbetween children and/or young persons in care and their families.This position must ensure that the child’s best interests areprotected during contact. The aim is to facilitate a safe andconstructive contact visit comprising of positive interactionsbetween the parent/participant and child/children in order to buildtheir relationship.

We are looking for individuals who fulfil the followingcriteria:

- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, youngpeople and people with a disability.
- Tertiary qualification or working towards in a relevantdiscipline (e.g. social welfare, psychology, educationcounselling).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution andnegotiation skills.
- Excellent observational and report writing skills.
- Understanding of child protection and mandatory reportingrequirements.
- Sound knowledge of child development.
- Ability to remain impartial at all times.
- Ability to risk assess varying situations.
- Current drivers licence, comprehensively insured vehicle,mobile phone and access to a computer.
- Willing to undergo a National Police Check, obtain a (NSW)Working with Children Check clearance, and NDIS WorkerScreening Check.
