About the role

Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Senior Cyber Intelligence Analyst to join the Cyber Intelligence team. In this role you will research, analyse and deliver advice, intelligence and reporting on the cyber threat landscape to support all-of-government responses to cyber security issues and risks. You will also help shape and enhance the processes and policies that keep operations running smoothly and securely both within the team and across the branch. In addition, you will play a key part in fostering a proactive, collaborative, high-performing team culture where diversity of opinion and experience are valued and celebrated. The role sits in the Strategic Intelligence stream of the Cyber Intelligence team reporting to the Manager, Cyber Intel, along with an chance to be involved in more tactical and operational intelligence work. This position requires work outside standard hours on an on-call roster and during cyber incidents.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary cyber threat landscape, including emerging trends and evolving threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), to produce high-quality, in-depth intelligence assessments and reports on threats and campaigns with potential impacts to the NSW Government.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and professional guidance to junior team members, fostering capability development and supporting the delivery of timely, actionable and high-quality cyber intelligence outcomes. Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement and maturation of team methodologies, processes, frameworks and intelligence capabilities.
- Participate in Cyber Security NSW's on-call roster, supporting incident response activities and the provision of intelligence during cyber security incidents and significant events.

About you

- Demonstrated expertise in the intelligence cycle, supported by highly developed research, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Possess exceptional written communication skills and contribute a leadership role in the development and delivery of key Cyber Security NSW intelligence products, including the Tri-Annual Cyber Threat Assessment and other strategic intelligence publications.
- Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders across NSW Government agencies and interstate jurisdictions to facilitate the timely sharing, receipt and analysis of cyber threat intelligence and incident-related information.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in cyber security intelligence analysis.




- Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment.
