Role Description

The Lawyer role is a full-time, in office position based in Brisbane, QLD. The Lawyer will provide advice and representation across practice areas such as commercial law, sports law, property, wills and estates, and disputes and debt recovery. Daily activities include drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, conducting legal research, managing client matters, and preparing correspondence, advices, and court documents. The role involves liaising with clients to understand their priorities, outlining legal options and risks, and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve practical and commercial outcomes.



The Lawyer will also assist with matter management, maintain accurate files and records, and contribute to business development and firm initiatives where required.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in legal research, legal drafting, and contract review, with the ability to produce clear and accurate written advice.
- Experience or interest in commercial law and sports law, including exposure to property, disputes, and debt recovery matters.
- Effective client communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with a focus on building trusted professional relationships.
- Sound analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills to deliver practical recommendations and commercial outcomes.
- Ability to manage files, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Admission as a Lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction and eligibility to hold a current practising certificate.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Law (LLB or equivalent); experience in private practice is advantageous.
- Commitment to ethical practice, continuous learning, and staying current with developments in relevant areas of law.
