We are seeking a technically and commercially astute O&M; Asset Engineer to join our owner's team and support the Plant Manager in overseeing the 94MW Gunsynd Solar Farm. In this role, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, responsible for managing, auditing, and challenging the O&M; Contractor to ensure they meet strict contractual obligations (Availability Guarantee), operate safely, and proactively maximize long-term revenue. This is a site-based role in Goondiwindi.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor the O&M; Contractor's adherence to the Operation & Maintenance Contract, focusing on Availability Guarantee and the Required Standard
- Track the Evaluation Period Energy Based Availability against the Guaranteed Availability Level
- Administer the contract, including tracking and evaluating External Events that may impact the availability guarantee
- Verify that the Contractor is only claiming Unscheduled Maintenance costs for legitimate issues not caused by their own Service Defects or negligence
- Monitor Safety Culture by observing on-the-ground behaviours to ensure the Contractor's personnel are compliant with LOTO procedures, HV switching protocols, PPE use, and working at heights
- Scrutinize the Contractor's incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring significant accidents, environmental breaches, or near misses are reported and rectified
- Hold the Contractor accountable for DA conditions including dust, noise, lighting,



erosion control, waste management, and vegetation/livestock management
- Conduct independent reviews of the Contractor's SCADA data and monthly reports to verify calculations and challenge assumptions
- Maintain the owner's independent database of plant performance and maintenance history to cross-check the Contractor's CMMS records
- Review and evaluate the Contractor's Progress Claims, ensuring invoiced amounts align with actual services rendered
- Support the BESS project team with technical, operational and commissioning activities during the development, EPC, construction and commissioning phases of the project as required.

About you

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, or a relevant commercial/technical discipline
- 3–4 years of experience in the renewable power generation sector
- 1–2 years specifically in an owner's representative, asset management, or contract management capacity overseeing large-scale infrastructure (Solar PV preferred)
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and Environmental Laws
- Ability to audit contractor safety management systems
- Robust understanding of liquidated damages, warranties, KPIs, and contract interpretation
- Proficiency in data analysis (Excel, Python and PVSyst is highly desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and technical specifications
