An established Australian organisation with a significant operational footprint is looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner to its Brisbane based finance team.

The organisation operates across multiple business units and markets, with finance playing an increasingly important role in supporting commercial performance and decision-making. This position sits close to the operational and customer-facing areas of the business, providing exposure to senior stakeholders and a broad range of commercial decisions.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Finance Business Partner will work closely with sales, marketing and operational stakeholders to provide analysis, insight and constructive commercial challenge.

A major focus will be understanding the underlying performance of the existing business, particularly profitability, customer and product margins, pricing and contribution - while also assessing future opportunities and supporting longer-term commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

- Partnering with sales, marketing and operational leaders to improve commercial performance
- Analysing customer and product profitability, margins, pricing and contribution
- Providing constructive challenge around commercial decisions and assumptions
- Leading budgets and forecasts across key areas of the business
- Supporting P&L;, cashflow and balance sheet modelling
- Building and maintaining detailed 3-way and scenario-based financial models
- Developing business cases, valuations and investment appraisals




- Assessing the financial viability of new opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Preparing management, KPI and ad-hoc reporting with meaningful commentary
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities across business performance
- Supporting improvements across FP&A; processes, reporting and planning tools
- Working alongside data and BI teams to enhance reporting, automation and analytical capability

About You

You'll be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with the business and is confident challenging stakeholders when the numbers don't support the assumptions.

You'll ideally bring:

- 3+ years' experience within FP&A;, commercial finance or business partnering
- Strong budgeting and forecasting experience
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining 3-way financial models
- Experience developing business cases, valuations or investment appraisals
- Robust commercial acumen and an ability to understand profitability drivers
- Confidence influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and the ability to turn analysis into practical recommendations
- A proactive approach and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy

Experience within a larger operational, manufacturing, wholesale or similarly complex commercial environment would be advantageous. Power BI and large ERP experience would also be beneficial.
