PS0045 Contract Management Officer

Are you experienced in contract management and passionate about building strong contractor and stakeholder relationships delivering quality outcomes for the community? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Contract Management Officer to join the team of a permanent full-time basis.

About The Role

The primary portfolio for this Contract Management Officer role is with the aquatic facilities. The role ensures the implementation, execution, control and completion of specific contracts and is responsible for ensuring external contractors working on behalf of Mackay Regional Council comply fully with all contractual compliance obligations and requirements.

This position will develop and maintain relationships with external contractors and stakeholders to deliver Councils contracted works effectively and efficiently and to the required standards.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills

- Qualifications in Facilities Management, Contract Management or a related field, preferably at Diploma level, or a lesser qualification combined with relevant experience or equivalent expertise.
- Current Queensland “C” Class driver licence or interstate equivalent
- Experience managing contracts, contractors, tradespeople, suppliers and associated service providers.
- Practical experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Experience interpreting legislation and implementing policies and standards in a work environment.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills,



with the ability to deal with difficult situations professionally.
- Well-developed time and project management skills, including the ability to set priorities, schedule resources and organise work.
