The opportunity

As the Cyber Security Operations Officer you'll play animportant role in protecting Council's digital workplace bysupporting day to day cyber security operations. Workingclosely with senior ICT staff, you'll help monitor securityalerts, investigate potential threats, support incidentresponse activities and contribute to the ongoing improvementof Council's cyber security posture. This is an excellentopportunity for someone with ICT or cyber security experiencewho enjoys problem solving, continuous learning and making a meaningful impact within a community focused organisation.

What you’ll be doing

- Monitor, investigate and triage cyber security alertsacross Council systems
- Supportcyber incident response, documentation, escalation andremediation activities
- Assistwith endpoint security, device compliance andvulnerability management processes
- Supportidentity and access management activities including MFAand access reviews
- Maintain accurate security records, reports, proceduresand awareness materials

What you'll need to succeed

- Qualifications in Cyber Security, InformationTechnology, Computer Science or similar
- Experience in ICT support, service desk,



systemsadministration or cyber security roles
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments,networking and identity management
- Strongdocumentation, organisational and issue escalationskills
- Understanding of cyber security frameworks, tools andpractices including Essential Eight
