We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator to provide health, safety and wellbeing support to our school staff.

Your Opportunity

- Continuously improve the local implementation of the department's Health,



Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
- Provide support to the nominated schools in health and safety including risk management, incident reporting and review and the rehabilitation and return to work coordination of ill or injured staff.

Responsibilities

- Provide health, safety and wellbeing advice and support to school leadership and staff.
- Strengthen workplace health and safety practices and ensure compliance with the HSWMS.
- Conduct and support audits, inspections, emergency preparedness and hazard control activities.
- Support injured or ill staff through rehabilitation and return to work processes.
- Monitor WHS data to identify emerging risks and recommend improvements.
- Deliver training, inductions and awareness activities to promote a positive safety culture.
- Support the management and reporting of occupational violence and aggression incidents.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and recommendations for school leadership and HSW committees.
- Provide advice and compliance support for building fire safety, including Fire Safety Advisor duties.
- Coordinate health and safety responses and reporting during critical incidents.
