About the role

We're seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to deliver the Certificate I in Developing Independence. In this rewarding role, you'll inspire and support young people aged 16 to 25 at our Shepparton Education First Youth Foyer (SEFYF), helping them build confidence, develop practical life skills, and achieve their educational goals. You'll create engaging learning experiences, develop tailored support strategies,



and work collaboratively with SEFYF staff to empower students to reach their full potential.

You'll also work with students as part of the Skills for Independence Program (SKIP), helping to break down barriers to education and create meaningful pathways for disadvantaged young people. In addition, you'll partner with Berry Street to deliver similar programs for young people in Residential and Out of Home Care, fostering inclusion, independence, and positive lifelong outcomes.

About you

As the successful candidate you will have:

- Current industry experience in a youth focused environment.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or TAE40122 (GOTAFE supports on the job completion).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What you'll need

Successful applicants will be required to provide:

- a current National Police Check (issued within three months of commencement)




- a current Employee Working with Children Check (or evidence of application)
- a current driver's licence where required.
