About the Role

As the Senior Operations Leader - Sports Turf Maintenance, you will play a key role in the presentation,preparationand maintenance of Council's sports turf facilities. This hands‑on leadership position offers the opportunity to work in a high-performance environment where quality,precisionand attention to detail are essential.

Leading daily maintenance operations, you will coordinate resources, support a skilledteamand ensure playing surfaces aremaintainedand presented to the highest standards for both major sporting events and community use. From turf management and operational planning to stakeholder engagement and service delivery, this diverse role combines technicalexpertisewith leadership responsibility.

Working closely with the Head of City Sport Maintenance, you will help drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement while delivering reliable, high‑quality outcomes across Council's sports turf portfolio. Your ability to lead by example,prioritisecompeting demands andmaintainexceptional standards will be critical to the success of the team.

What We Offer

- Salary from $84,553.95 - $97,968.66 per annum plus 12% superannuation

The successful candidate will have

- Tertiary qualifications in Greenkeeping / Sports Turf Management
- Demonstrated experience in providing Greenkeeping/Sports Turf Management to an elite leveland be accountable for agreed work methods, standards and outcomes
- Knowledge of sports turf agronomy and understanding of soil test results to assist withmonitoring turf health, identification and reporting on early signs of pest, disease, weedinfestations and nutrient deficiencies
- Chemical Application Accreditation (AQF3)
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading a small team of trade qualified staff
- Capacity to plan, prioritise and organise daily work schedules
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of plant and/or various equipment common toGreenkeeping and Sports Turf Management
- Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service




- Appropriate written and oral communication skills and ability to liaise professionally withinternal and external stakeholders to advocate for turf welfare without disrupting eventdelivery
