Qualified Carpenter Residential Full Time

Smart Choice Granny Flats is seeking a Qualified Carpenter Residential Full Time to join our agile team based in Pemulwuy, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality carpentry and residential construction solutions to our clients. As a skilled tradesperson, you will play a crucial role in the design, planning and execution of residential building projects, with a focus on granny flats and residential extensions. Your expertise and craftsmanship will directly impact the quality of our finished products and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Construct, install and finish timber frames, wall frames, roof structures and other wooden components to specification
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, building plans and technical specifications accurately
- Measure, cut and shape timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools with precision
- Install doors, windows, flooring, staircases, cabinetry and other fixtures as required by project specifications
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, safety regulations and quality standards
- Prepare project timelines and coordinate with other trades and team members on site
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to workplace health and safety protocols
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality meets company standards and client expectations
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors and other trades to manage expectations and resolve any issues

What we're looking for

- Valid carpentry qualification or apprenticeship completion recognised in Australia
- Proven experience in residential carpentry and cabinet making within the Australian building industry
- Strong knowledge of building codes and compliance requirements relevant to New South Wales




- Proficiency in using traditional hand tools and modern power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical plans accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively on-site
- Reliable, professional attitude with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and punctuality
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport to travel between job sites
- Experience with residential extensions, granny flats or similar projects is highly desirable
