We’re looking for a Wool Buyer to join our team at the recent Goulburn wool selling centre. You might be an experienced buyer bringing established expertise, or an enthusiastic self-starter ready to build a career in the industry.
About the role
You’ll be where buying decisions happen. Working with our purchasing team, you will assess wool, review auction catalogues and test results, and identify suitable buying opportunities. The role’s seniority, responsibilities and working hours will reflect the experience and capabilities of the successful applicant.
There’s flexibility in how the role takes shape. We’re open to permanent part-time or full-time employment, with agreed hours aligned to the auction schedule.
The position requires attendance at the Goulburn wool selling centre at least two days per week, covering auction preparation and sales. Where agreed working hours extend beyond the required on-site days, suitable duties may be performed from home by agreement.

Key responsibilities
Assess wool, review auction catalogues and test results,
and identify suitable buying opportunities
Bid at auction on behalf of Tianyu, within agreed specifications and purchasing limits
Follow market movements and contribute insights to the wider team
Develop strong working relationships with wool brokers and industry contacts
Maintain accurate purchasing records and help coordinate purchases with our team
About you
Has a strong interest in wool and a willingness to keep learning
Takes initiative, follows through and works reliably both independently and with others
Is comfortable with numbers, detail and commercial decision-making
Communicates clearly and builds effective working relationships
Previous wool buying, classing, broking or other relevant industry experience will be valued
Auction buying experience is not essential for applicants joining at junior level
