Two temporary AO5 Senior Ranger (Disaster Recovery) positions available

- Central West Area (preferred location: Townsville)
- Capricornia Area (preferred location: Mackay or Rockhampton)

This is a rewarding prospect to play a key role in Queensland’s disaster recovery efforts. In this diverse position, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, assisting with the restoration of critical assets and infrastructure following natural disaster events while helping maintain operational resilience across the region.

These roles are responsible for coordinating asset management, infrastructure restoration and natural disaster recovery programs across the Central Region. The positions support the assessment, prioritisation, and recovery of QPWS assets impacted by cyclones, floods, storms, bushfires and other natural disaster events.

Key responsibilities include managing recovery projects from initial damage assessment through to completion, including the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, recovery priorities,



funding submissions and project delivery activities. The roles also monitor budgets and expenditure, maintain recovery work programs, prepare technical documentation and reports, and provide advice and support to regional staff.

In addition, these positions lead procurement and contract management activities for materials, contractors, and specialist services, ensuring recovery projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with funding requirements, procurement policies, and relevant legislative obligations.

We are seeking motivated, adaptable, and collaborative individuals with strong organisational, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
