Where you'll be working
Hunter New England Population Health (HNEPH) is responsible for the delivery of Population Health services to the people of the Hunter and New England regions. Our Population Health Unit is divided into two service teams; Health Protection and Health Promotion.
Population Health has 3 sites Wallsend, Tamworth and Taree. This position is based at Wallsend Health Campus, which has free parking.

The Opportunity
This position will be responsible for delivering healthy eating and physical activity programs as part of the Munch and Move program to Early Childhood Education and Care Service services across the HNE LHD region. You will work as part of a coordinated team to deliver best practice implementation strategies and contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative strategies. The position reports to the ECEC Program Manager. The successful candidate will be supported by a number of staff including a Program Manager and Project Officers in the team. Support will be provided in the form of work-based learning activities, including project participation, job shadowing, mentoring and performance-based feedback.

Requirements

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics, Eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Association of Australia and Accredited Practising Dietitian status
- Eligibility to drive in NSW




- Demonstrated experience in Population Health/ Health Promotion/ Community Nutrition projects, including supervision of nutrition students and provision of specialist advice in public health nutrition
- Demonstrated skills in project planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination in delivering best practice, evidence based public health nutrition related programs
- Demonstrated experience using written, verbal, interpersonal and technology-based communication skills to develop and maintain relationships and to effectively motivate change in practices and behaviours
