Tresillian is currently recruiting for a dynamic Nurse Educator to join the Tresillian EPPIC regional team.

The Nurse Educator (NE) is responsible for providing nursing education in Tresillian’s regional services. Functions of this role include providing orientation and support to new members of nursing staff, supporting the development and acquisition of clinical and mandatory skills and the development and delivery of the regional services’ professional development programs. The NE will participate in Tresillian’s external education programs and activities. The NE will be required to travel to regional sites to provide nursing education support. The Nurse Educator will be allocated to several sites. These sites may be inclusive of Moruya, Queanbeyan, Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Cowra, Dubbo, Taree, Armidale, Macksville, Muswellbrook, Lismore and Broken Hill.

Selection Criteria –Applicants must address the Selection Criteria:

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Postgraduate /post registration qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing with extensive experience working as a child and family health nurse

Postgraduate/post registration qualifications in nursing education (or relevant to this position as deemed by the Director, Workforce Learning and Development) or working towards same, or willing to undertake same (with enrolment within the first 12 months of employment).

Experience in nursing education inclusive of clinical teaching and the delivery of education sessions.

Understanding of adult learning principles and applying these to the Nurse Educator role.

Understanding of, and commitment and ability to implement evidence-based practice





Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of population health and primary health care; and principles and skills of working in partnership and the principles that underpin NSW Safestart, within a multidisciplinary team environment

Able to demonstrate high level effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills

Able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Office and the web-based environments
