Where you’ll be working
Cessnock Community Health is part of Hunter New England Local Health District and provides a range of community-based services to individuals and families across the Hunter Valley.
You’ll join a friendly and supportive team that values collaboration, open communication and professional development. Working alongside GPs, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers, you’ll play an important role in delivering coordinated, patient-centred care close to home.

- Immunisation, where appropriately qualified
- Providing education and support to patients and their families
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Experience in wound care would be a strong asset
About you

To be successful, you will have:
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Experience in wound care is highly desirable

but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work autonomously and effectively manage your time
- A patient-centred approach to care
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- A current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence - essential for the role
If you enjoy variety, autonomy and building genuine connections with patients, community nursing offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference beyond the hospital setting.
You’ll have the chance to provide care in patients’ homes and within the community, helping people maintain their health, independence and quality of life -while being supported by a team that values your contribution.
At Hunter New England Health, you’ll enjoy a career where you’re challenged by interesting work and surrounded by spectacular locations. Join a team enriching health in millions of ways every day.
