Reporting to management, the Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial records. This is a hands-on general accounting position suited to someone who is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently while also working closely with management and other departments.

Key responsibilities

Manage and maintain the company's accounting functions, accounting systems and financial records.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including supplier and customer account reconciliations.

Review financial transactions and supporting accounting records to ensure accuracy, appropriate classification and compliance with company policies.

Perform bank and account reconciliations.

Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable and working-capital requirements, and provide relevant financial information to management.

Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and management accounts for management review.

Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.

Prepare BAS, GST and other relevant taxation requirements.

Assist with payroll processing and related accounting records.

About you

Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.





At least 2 years of previous experience in a general accounting or accountant role.

Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports, management accounts and financial statements.

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices and GST.

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.

Experience with budgeting, cash-flow forecasting, financial analysis and monitoring business performance.

Experience preparing BAS and assisting with tax compliance.

Good understanding of payroll and superannuation processes.

Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

$80,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications.
