We're launching a brand-recent NY-style deli inside the David Jones Sydney food hall — Eat at DJ's — and we need a Deli Chef who wants to become the face and hero of it.

You'll be perfecting our signature dish: a salt beef sandwich built to rival the best department store delis in the world. You'll be front and centre in one of Sydney's busiest retail food destinations, working directly with customers — so as much as we need your knife skills, we need your personality.

Friendly, warm, quick with a joke or a recommendation — someone who makes people's lunch break the best part of their day. Hours are 8am – 4pm with no late nights, no 11pm finishes, and no split shifts.

Key responsibilities

Curing, cooking, and carving salt beef/pastrami to a world-class standard

Building and refining the deli menu alongside our culinary team

Running the deli counter with energy, warmth, and genuine hospitality

Managing stock, prep,



and food safety to the standard David Jones demands

Solid chef/deli experience — charcuterie, curing, or delicatessen background highly regarded
