We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Metal Machinist (First Class) to join our team based in Wetherill Park, Sydney .

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in precision workmanship, has strong manual and/or CNC machining capabilities, and is confident producing high-quality components from engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Metal Machinist (First Class) ,



you will play an important role in manufacturing and repairing precision components to required specifications, tolerances and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine job requirements and specifications.

- Setting up and operating precision metal-cutting, machining and grinding equipment to manufacture and repair components from metals and specialised alloys.

- Setting up and operating milling machines, lathes, boring machines, pillar drills and grinders to manufacture precision components and parts.

- Using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, vernier calipers, internal micrometers, slip gauges and machine measuring devices, to ensure components meet specified dimensions and tolerances.

- Selecting and applying appropriate machining techniques, tooling and operating methods for each job.

- Conducting inspections and quality checks to ensure finished components meet required specifications and quality standards.

- Identifying and resolving machining or production issues while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

- Maintaining machinery, tools and work areas to a high standard.





- Following all workplace health and safety procedures and contributing to a protected and professional working setting.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, you should have:

- A relevant trade qualification as a Metal Machinist, Fitter and Turner, or equivalent.

- Demonstrated experience working as a First Class Machinist or in a comparable precision machining role.

- Strong manual machining and/or CNC machining skills.

- The ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

- Sound knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials and manufacturing methods.

- Confidence using precision measuring instruments and working to specified tolerances.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- White Card, Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets.

- Own reliable transport.
