Metrowide Facility Management is an established and growing national facilities services company delivering cleaning, property maintenance and municipal services across government and commercial contracts.

With an expanding portfolio of contracts and operations across Australia, we are continuing to strengthen our management team and are looking for people who want to grow with the business.

Due to the commencement of a significant new contract in Melbourne's Bayside area, we are seeking an experienced, motivated and hands-on Contract Manager to lead our local operations.

This role offers more than day-to-day contract management. For the right person, there will also be opportunities to work closely with senior management on business growth, new contract opportunities, tender submissions and mobilisation of future contracts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management and performance of a significant field-based services contract.

You will manage supervisors, field employees, vehicles, equipment and subcontractors while ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements and KPIs.

This is not a purely office-based management position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being out in the field, supporting teams, inspecting sites, communicating with the client and responding quickly when operational issues arise.

You will also be responsible for the commercial side of contract management, including labour costs, budgets, productivity, resource allocation and overall contract performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of the contract
- Lead, support and manage supervisors and field-based employees
- Coordinate daily rosters, staff allocation and replacement coverage
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits
- Ensure contractual KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved
- Respond promptly and professionally to client requests,



complaints and urgent operational matters
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with client representatives
- Manage staff performance, inductions, training and development
- Monitor service delivery through Metrowide's digital management and GPS systems
- Coordinate vehicles, equipment, consumables and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements
- Investigate service issues and implement corrective actions
- Prepare operational, KPI and performance reports
- Monitor labour costs, budgets and contract expenditure
- Manage resources and productivity to ensure efficient contract delivery
- Identify cost-saving and operational improvement opportunities without compromising service quality
- Support contract mobilisation and ongoing continuous improvement
- Work closely with the Head of Operations and senior management on contract performance

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, commercially aware, organised, accountable and solutions-focused.

You will need to be confident managing both people in the field and the financial performance of the contract.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

- Previous experience as a Contract Manager, Operations Manager, Area Manager, Facilities Manager or similar
- Experience within facilities management, commercial cleaning, municipal services, waste, landscaping, property services or another field-based service industry
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Experience managing supervisors and operational workforces
- Strong rostering, workforce planning and resource allocation skills
- Strong financial and commercial management skills
- Experience managing budgets, labour costs and operational expenditure
- Understanding of contract profitability, productivity and cost control
- Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills




- Experience managing contractual KPIs and service-level requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make decisions and respond quickly to operational issues
- Good computer, reporting and administrative skills
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- Full Australian working rights

Previous experience in beach cleaning, foreshore services, public-space maintenance, local government or municipal service contracts will be highly regarded.

LOCATION

This is primarily a field-based role across Melbourne's Bayside area, with regular travel between operational sites.

Operational and administrative support will be provided from Metrowide's Moorabbin depot.

Candidates living in or around Bayside, Moorabbin or Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs will be well suited to the position.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

- Up to $10,000 annual KPI/performance bonus

You will also receive direct support from the Head of Operations, administration team, supervisors and Metrowide's established operational systems.
