NLA Logistics is seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Team Leader to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on operational role where you will be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business while also providing guidance, direction and support to the operations team around you.

We are looking for someone who can confidently manage a fast-paced workload, keep the team focused and organised, solve problems as they arise and ensure our daily operations run smoothly.

About the Role

As Operations Team Leader, you will work closely with management and the wider operations team to coordinate daily transport requirements, respond to changing site demands and ensure drivers, subcontractors and customers receive a high level of service.

You will not simply supervise from the sidelines — you will be part of the day-to-day operations while helping lead the team around you.

Key responsibilities will include:

Coordinating day-to-day transport and operational requirements

Supporting and guiding the operations and allocations team

Managing changing workloads, priorities and last-minute requirements

Communicating with drivers, subcontractors, customers and site personnel

Assisting with truck allocations and scheduling

Monitoring jobs throughout the day and responding quickly to issues

Ensuring the team follows internal procedures and operational processes

Escalating significant operational or customer issues when required

Helping maintain a positive, accountable and productive team environment

Supporting management with continuous improvement of operational processes

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Confident leading and guiding a team





Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities

Calm and solutions-focused under pressure

A strong communicator with excellent phone and interpersonal skills

Comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment

Reliable, accountable and proactive

Able to work independently while still being a strong team player

Experienced in transport, logistics, allocations, civil construction or a similar operational environment

Previous experience in transport operations, truck allocations, logistics or civil construction will be highly regarded.

Shift Options

We have two full-time shift options available:

Morning Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 11:00am – 7:00pm

You will need to be available to take calls outside of these hours if urgent. Weekend oncall work once per month.
