We are seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Adviser to support our Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager and partner with our business leaders. This role will develop, maintain and implement risk and compliance strategies based on Australian Industry Group's business and commercial needs. You will ensure compliance and applicable systems, processes, policies, contracts and legislative obligations, and advise the leaders on key Risk and compliance issues.

Please note, this is a 10-month (full-time/part-time considered) parental leave contract, with the potential to be extended.

you can expect to be accountable for:

- Maintain and promote a Risk Policy and Risk Framework for the business entities.
- Maintain accurate records of all risk activities and provide reports/ updates to the Leadership Group
- Supporting theGovernance, Risk & Compliance Manager with preparation of board and committee meeting agendas, set up meeting times, communicate the agenda and take minutes
- Collaborate with theGovernance, Risk & Compliance Manager to ensure supplier contracts are compliant and signed.
- Monitor current supplier performance to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contracts.
- Develop and maintain any relevant legal and compliance policies, procedures and processes
- Provide general administrative support to theGovernance, Risk & Compliance Manager as required
- Support Board governance activities including ensuring the election processes for directors and AGMs are managed confidentially
- Coordinate internal reviews to ensure Australian Industry Group's broader policies, procedures, processes and systems align with legislation
- Assessing contract compliance framework and maintenance of the Contract Register




- Maintenance of various Compliance Registers, including statutory compliance calendars, conflict of Interest registers etc.

To best succeed in this role you will have:

- Degree level qualifications relevant to Risk and/or Compliance
- Knowledge/experience in establishing Business Continuity Framework beneficial
- Experience in partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver mutual beneficial outcomes
- Strong risk identification and mitigation experience, and knowledge of risk and compliance legislation, regulations and policies
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to relate to people at all levels in a consultative and collaborative manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a diverse range of tasks in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to build capability in others and drive outcomes through peers & Senior leadership involvement
