THE ROLE

The Senior Adviser works as part of a small team accountable for developing and implementing programs and practices to improve workplace culture, leadership capability and gender equality at the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

The Senior Adviser works as part of a small team accountable for developing and implementing programs and practices to improve workplace culture, leadership capability and gender equality at the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH). The role may work across a range of projects including leadership development, staff surveys (People Matter), positive workplace culture, embedding the VPS values, improving retention of critical workforces, prevention of bullying and inappropriate behaviour and strengthening gender equality. Key components of the role include: design and delivery of culture building workshops across all areas of Victoria; working in partnership with stakeholders across the department to build workplace culture and improve employee engagement, safety, respect, satisfaction and performance; administering,



analysing and briefing senior leaders and others on the People Matter Survey and other culture indicators; and supporting the department to meet statutory requirements under the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic).

- Provide analysis, expert advice, reasoned recommendations and customer-focused program options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues relating to workplace culture, leadership and gender equality.
- Design and deliver culture building workshops, focus groups, action planning sessions and other culture improvement projects across all areas of Victoria.
- Support the department's obligations under the Gender Equality Act 2020, including coordinating the workforce gender audit and the development, implementation and monitoring of the Gender Equality Action Plan.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process. Preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening.
