We are seeking an experienced and passionate Wellbeing Coordinator (Counsellor) to lead counselling and wellbeing services at our Marian Campus (Years 7-12). This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a qualified counselling professional who is committed to supporting the emotional, social and educational success of young people.

About The Role

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Campus, the Wellbeing Coordinator provides leadership of student wellbeing services and delivers professional counselling support to students experiencing a range of social, emotional and learning challenges.

Working collaboratively with school leaders, educators, families and external agencies, you will lead the development and delivery of wellbeing initiatives, oversee complex case management, and contribute to strategic wellbeing practices that enhance student outcomes across the campus.

This role combines direct counselling responsibilities with leadership of the wellbeing function, ensuring high-quality support services are provided to students and families.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Service Coordination

- Lead and support the Wellbeing Team, providing mentoring, guidance and oversight of daily operations.
- Coordinate counselling and wellbeing services across the Marian Campus.




- Manage wellbeing resources and budgets in consultation with relevant business leaders.
- Contribute to the development and review of wellbeing policies, procedures and strategic priorities.
- Support staff managing students requiring additional assistance through CESA scholarship programs.
- Work collaboratively with Campus Leadership and Pastoral Care Leaders to identify and support students at risk.

Counselling and Student Support

- Provide professional counselling services to students presenting with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Facilitate individual and small-group interventions relating to trauma, grief, loss, resilience, anger management and wellbeing.
- Lead case management processes for students with significant wellbeing concerns.
- Develop positive relationships with students and families to support educational engagement and wellbeing outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and case documentation.

Collaboration and Community Engagement

- Work closely with parents, caregivers, educators and external support agencies.
- Liaise with allied health professionals, government services and community organisations to secure the best outcomes for students.
- Facilitate referrals to specialist services including psychologists, GPs, CAMHS and other support providers.
- Develop and deliver parent information sessions and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support student transition and orientation programs.

You will be a highly experienced counselling professional with strong leadership capability and a deep commitment to supporting young people.

- Extensive counselling experience working with children and young people.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Experience leading complex case management and student wellbeing initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and support staff.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to influence strategic wellbeing practices and policies.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Skilled judgment, resilience and a commitment to best practice.
- A commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education.

Essential Requirements

- University qualifications in Counselling or a related discipline.
- Current professional registration and/or membership with a recognised professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in a comparable counselling or wellbeing leadership role.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certification.
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Eligibility to work within Catholic Education South Australia.
