The Role

On behalf of our client, Drover Ag is seeking an experienced, proactive, and self-motivated Farm Manager to oversee all operational aspects of a highly productive 5,300-acre mixed-farming enterprise located in the Euroa and Violet Town region of Victoria. In this pivotal leadership role, you will assume full day-to-day operational management across a diverse enterprise encompassing 4,500 Merino and crossbred ewes & lambs, 150 head of Angus cattle, and broadacre cereal cropping, ensuring seamless execution from seasonal planning through to daily operations.
Reporting directly to off-site owners who provide support while granting complete management autonomy, you will lead, mentor, and schedule a dedicated team consisting of a full-time farm hand and additional casual staff during peak seasonal periods. Your multifaceted responsibilities will include overseeing crop production and livestock husbandry, managing pasture and animal health programs, executing seasonal breeding and veterinary schedules, and maintaining farm infrastructure, machinery, and equipment to the highest standards.
A key focus of your day-to-day operations will be ensuring immaculate property presentation and general farm upkeep, alongside the seamless integration of sustainable agricultural practices and environmental compliance into whole-farm management. Furthermore, you will drive operational improvements by implementing modern farming technologies, managing farm budgets, and effectively liaising with agronomists, vets, suppliers, and external partners to optimise whole-farm performance.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an accomplished, reliable, and hands-on farm management professional who possesses exceptional leadership capability, strong practical agricultural knowledge, and a collaborative mindset to drive operational success.

- Minimum of 3+ years in farm management or a senior agricultural role with proven expertise across livestock and cropping.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sheep husbandry, cattle management, pasture management, and crop production principles.
- Sound understanding of agricultural best practices, sustainability principles, and environmental compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, solve problems proactively, and make sound operational decisions.
- Proactive approach to general property upkeep, maintenance, and immaculate property presentation.
- Strong team management and communication skills, with a positive attitude and pleasant temperament.
- Valid manual driver's licence and HC licence, with proficiency in operating modern farm machinery and equipment.
- Possession of well-trained working dogs suitable for livestock handling.
- Agricultural qualifications, Chemical User Certificate, and First Aid certification are highly advantageous.
