We are partnering with a large commercial company seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner for an initial 3 month contract, starting as soon as possible.

This hands-on role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and business partnering. Working closely with the CFO and business leaders, you will bring together financial inputs, challenge assumptions and provide clear insights to support planning and commercial decisions. Strong stakeholder engagement is central to the position. You will work directly with budget owners to understand business performance, assess risks and opportunities, and translate financial information into practical actions.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting and Forecasting

- Coordinate and prepare budgets and forecasts, working closely with stakeholders to gather and validate inputs.
- Develop, maintain and improve financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Review and constructively challenge assumptions to ensure financial plans reflect business activity and realistic expectations.
- Consolidate departmental inputs and ensure submissions are accurate, consistent and delivered on time.
- Update forecasts as business conditions change, clearly explaining key movements and their financial implications.

Finance Business Partnering

- Build effective working relationships with business leaders and budget owners.
- Work with stakeholders to understand revenue, cost and operational drivers and their impact on financial performance.
- Support budget owners to interpret financial results, manage expenditure and take ownership of their budgets.
- Provide practical financial advice and analysis to support resource allocation and commercial decisions.
- Identify and discuss emerging risks, cost pressures and opportunities to improve performance.





Financial Analysis and Reporting

- Analyse actual results against budget, forecast and prior periods, explaining key variances and underlying drivers.
- Prepare transparent management reporting and commentary, highlighting issues requiring attention or action.
- Undertake revenue, cost and profitability analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess the financial impact of proposed changes.
- Provide timely ad hoc analysis and contribute financial inputs to executive and board reporting as required.
- Check and reconcile financial information to ensure reporting and analysis are accurate and reliable.

About You

You are an experienced FP&A; or commercial finance professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and remains hands-on with financial models, budgets and analysis. You can quickly understand a business, work through detailed financial information and communicate what the numbers mean in clear, practical terms.

You will bring:

- Strong hands-on budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience.
- Proven ability to partner with business leaders, gather inputs and constructively challenge assumptions.
- Strong skills in variance analysis, management reporting and commercial decision support.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex financial models.
- The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- The ability to become productive quickly and deliver within a short-term contract.
- Availability to commence as soon as possible and commit to the initial three-month assignment.
