The prospect

As the Team Leader Sport Facilities & Activation, you'll play a key role in helping the Hobsons Bay community access high-quality sport and recreation facilities, programs and services. Leading a small team, you'll oversee facility management, club partnerships, policy implementation and community activation initiatives that encourage participation in sport and recreation while supporting positive community outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead and manage the Sport & Recreation team, including supervision of two officers.
- Oversee the allocation, booking, permitting and utilisation of sport and recreation facilities.
- Manage sport and recreation tenancy agreements and stakeholder relationships.
- Negotiate and resolve sporting club and community facility matters in line with Council objectives.
- Implement policies, programs and continuous improvement initiatives that increase participation in sport and recreation.

What you'll need to succeed

- Tertiary qualification in Recreation, Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of sport and recreation industry trends and community sporting club operations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing staff.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, report writing and communication skills.
