About the role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Accountant to join our growing and dynamic team at AFP Accounting, Tax & Business Advisory in Norwest, NSW. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs, Companies, Trusts, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs).

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing annual financial statements, tax returns, and business activity statements for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, SMSFs, and SME clients.
- Providing proactive and strategic business advisory services, including cash flow analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their primary point of contact for accounting, taxation,



and business advisory matters.
- Assisting clients with company registrations, trust setups, business restructures, and succession planning.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants and providing technical guidance and training.
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, and other professionals to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all client work.
- Contributing to the growth and development of the Business Services team and the firm as a whole.

About you

- 4+ years of experience in a similar business services or public practice accounting role.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (required)
- CPA or CA (or studying towards a CA) qualification (required)
- Solid technical skills in accounting, taxation, and business advisory services.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful insights for clients.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members.
