The Opportunity

We are seeking a capable and client-focused Solicitor to join our property and commercial law team.

The successful candidate will have proven conveyancing experience and be confident managing residential property transactions. The role will also involve leasing, commercial transactions and general property-related legal work.

This is an opportunity to join an established, award-winning conveyancing practice while developing broader expertise in property and commercial law.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing residential conveyancing matters from initial instructions through to settlement;
- Reviewing contracts for the sale and purchase of land;
- Preparing contracts for sale;
- Advising clients on cooling-off periods, deposits, easements, covenants, title issues and contractual risks;
- Conducting property due diligence and preparing clear written advice;
- Drafting and negotiating special conditions;




- Managing off-the-plan purchases, vacant land transactions and house-and-land matters;
- Managing electronic settlements through PEXA;
- Liaising with clients, agents, brokers, lenders, other solicitors and relevant authorities;
- Preparing, reviewing and negotiating retail and commercial leases;
- Assisting with business sales and purchases;
- Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, deeds and related documents;
- Maintaining accurate files, critical dates and client records;
- Working collaboratively with solicitors and support staff across the firm; and
- Delivering a high standard of client care at every stage of a matter.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- A current Australian practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one;
- Practical experience managing NSW conveyancing matters;
- A sound understanding of residential property transactions and conveyancing procedures;
- Experience using PEXA;
- Robust contract-review and legal-drafting skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills;
- The ability to manage competing priorities and critical deadlines;
- Clear, professional and approachable communication skills;
- A commitment to ethical practice,



accountability and client care; and
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Conveyancing experience is mandatory for this position. Applications from candidates without practical conveyancing experience will not be suitable for the role.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded:

- Commercial and retail leasing;
- Business sales and purchases;
- Commercial contracts;
- Off-the-plan and development transactions;
- Property disputes;
- Smokeball or similar practice-management software; and
- Supervising or mentoring junior staff.
