The People and Culture Unit provides internal service and support for work health and safety, learning and development, workplace relations, workforce reporting, workplace diversity and staff performance.

We are seeking motivated and capable professionals to support a range of people and culture functions, including work health and safety (WHS), learning and development (L&D;), strategic workforce planning, performance and conduct, and the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

You will provide high-quality advice, co-ordination and support to managers and employees, helping to deliver practical outcomes and positive employee experiences across the organisation. You will ideally have experience in one or more of these areas, strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to work independently with limited guidance, and a collaborative approach to working as part of a team.

Key responsibilities in the WHS role include:

- Delivering high-quality rehabilitation case management activities (non-compensable and compensable), including early intervention, and providing advice on complex WHS matters to stakeholders.
- Supporting all aspects of the WH&S; function, including all reporting and the review of policies, procedures, and resources to ensure continuous improvement and legislative and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting the development and implementation of wellbeing strategies,



including employee surveys and initiatives which aim to support mental health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities in the L&D; and workforce planning role include:

- Leading the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation's learning and development function, including the corporate training calendar, graduate program, corporate induction and other capability-building initiatives.
- Managing the learning and development system, budget, reporting and vendor relationships, including oversight of LearnHub operations, system optimisation and performance agreement reporting.
- Supporting implementation of the AIHW's Workforce Development Plan by co-ordinating initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, monitoring progress against agreed deliverables and preparing reporting to support governance and decision-making.

Key responsibilities in the Performance & Conduct and RAP support role include:

- Providing authoritative advice and support to managers and employees on performance, conduct and workplace behaviour matters, including guiding formal and informal processes and managing complex matters.
- Leading the review and continuous improvement of policies, procedures and resources to ensure legislative compliance, consistency and best-practice people management across the organisation.
- Co-ordinating implementation of the AIHW's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), including supporting the RAP Working Group, driving initiatives, monitoring progress against commitments, preparing reporting, and building organisational awareness and engagement.

The roles are Canberra-based and may include supervising and supporting small teams through coaching, guidance and workload co-ordination, while contributing to capability development and the achievement of team objectives.
