As the Student Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality student support services for American college and university students studying at the CEA CAPA Sydney Centre. Reporting to the Student Support Director, you will provide day-to-day support across events management and activities, student welfare, reception operations, health and safety, housing, and crisis response. This is a highly active and student-facing role requiring regular engagement with students, staff, university partners, accommodation providers, and external suppliers. You will be a visible presence within the Centre, helping to create a welcoming, safe and supportive environment while contributing to an exceptional student experience.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver student activities, cultural events, excursions, educational visits and social programs
- Assist with student arrivals, departures, orientation programs, and welcome events
- Actively participate in evening and weekend activities, helping students engage with Australian culture and the local community
- Provide high-quality student support and advising to help students have a positive and rewarding study abroad experience
- Support the Director in responding to student welfare concerns, disciplinary matters and crisis situations
- Conduct student welfare check-ins and maintain regular contact with students throughout their program
- Serve as a welcoming and approachable first point of contact for students,
visitors and partners attending the Sydney Centre
- Create program calendars, activity schedules and detailed itineraries
- Work collaboratively with Student Support, Academic and Internship teams to support overall program delivery
- Participate in CEA CAPA's emergency phone rotation, providing emergency support to students when required
About you
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for working with university students
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience coordinating events, activities or group programs
- Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a cooperative team environment
- Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and database systems
- Legal right to work in Australia
