Job Description
We're a non-bank lender providing invoice finance, supply chain finance and business loans to Australian SMEs. Small team, direct decision-making, real commercial exposure — the opposite of a large corporate legal function.
n
This is our first dedicated in-house legal role. You'll own the legal function end to end and work directly with the Director.
n
What you'll do
n
n
Draft, review and improve facility documentation across invoice finance, supply chain finance and secured business loans
n
Manage the security position — GSAs, PPSR registrations and verification, guarantees, caveats, mortgages and priority arrangements
n
Run recovery and enforcement: demands, security enforcement, guarantor recovery, and instructing external counsel on litigated matters
n
Protect our position in insolvency — voluntary administrations, liquidations, proofs of debt, secured creditor strategy and DOCA analysis
n
Support our funding structure — warehouse and noteholder documentation, covenant and reporting obligations
n

Sit alongside credit on transaction structuring, so deals are papered right the first time
n
Keep compliance current across AML/CTF, privacy and contract governance
n
n
What you'll bring
n
n
4–6 years' post-admission experience in banking and finance, restructuring and insolvency, or commercial litigation
n
Practical PPSA capability — not theoretical. You've registered, verified, and enforced
n
Current NSW practising certificate
n
Commercial judgment. You can tell the difference between a risk worth papering and a risk worth pricing
n
Comfort operating without a legal team around you
n
n
What's on offer
n
n
Direct reporting line to the Director — your advice gets acted on the same week, not filtered through three layers
n
Genuine breadth: transactional, enforcement, insolvency and funding work in one role
n
Hybrid working from our North Shore office
