Resident Support Security Officer - CLV (Sydney / Parramatta)

We are recruiting Resident Support Officers to work overnight within our Sydney student accommodation residences (CLV). This role offers a modern, people-first approach to safety — one that prioritises wellbeing, respect, and community support over enforcement.

About the Role

As a Resident Support Officer , you’ll be a calm, approachable, and trusted presence for students after hours. You’ll provide wellbeing-focused support, respond to concerns, and contribute to a safe, welcoming residential community.

This role is ideal for:

- Security Officers seeking a more people-focused environment
- Professionals from community, education, health, youth work, or customer-service backgrounds who hold a valid NSW Security Licence

Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time / Casual
Roster: Throughout the week
Shifts: Overnight

Pay Rates

Weekdays (all hours): $35.08 per hour

Saturday: $43.29 per hour

Sunday: $57.72 per hour

Public Holidays: $72.15 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing

- Providing after-hours support to students in residence
- Responding to wellbeing concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Conducting visible, non-enforcement-focused walkthroughs
- Assisting with lockouts, general enquiries, and amenity access
- Coordinating with emergency services or on-call teams when required
- Completing incident reports and system updates
- Supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential culture




- Liaising with university and Residential Life teams

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from two broad backgrounds:

1. Experienced Security Officers
Looking to transition into a more community-focused, student-facing role.

2. People-Focused Professionals
From community services, allied health, education, youth work, student support, multicultural services, hospitality, or customer service — who hold a current NSW Security Licence.

What You Must Have

- Current NSW Security Licence – mandatory
- Availability to work overnight shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence completing written reports and using basic IT systems
- Calm, professional, and approachable manner

Desirable (or Willing to Obtain)

- First Aid & CPR
- RSA
- Working With Children Check (NSW)
- Willingness to complete Mental Health First Aid and Trauma-Informed Care training
