We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious junior lawyer to join our Insurance team in Melbourne. This role is ideally suited to a lawyer in the early stages of their career who is looking to build a long term future in defendant insurance litigation and gain exposure to a broad mix of insurance matters.

Working closely with experienced practitioners, you will assist on a diverse range of files across areas such as public liability, product liability, property damage, personal injury and other general insurance matters. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, insurers and counsel while developing your technical legal skills, commercial acumen and litigation experience.

This position offers genuine mentoring, hands on responsibility and a supportive workplace where your professional development is encouraged from day one. You will be involved in all aspects of file management, including drafting correspondence and court documents, conducting legal research, preparing evidence, liaising with clients and stakeholders and assisting with negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.

About you

- Between 0-2 years' post admission experience or be newly admitted with relevant legal experience gained as a law graduate or paralegal.
- An interest in general insurance or personal injury law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- A proactive approach, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Robust analytical and problem solving skills.




- A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to a supportive team culture.
- Previous exposure to insurance, personal injury, health law, workers' compensation or litigation matters will be highly regarded but is not essential. Most importantly, you will be eager to develop your career within a leading national law firm and build specialist expertise in insurance law.
