Todd Winders Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Carpenter/Skilled Labourer to join our growing team in Broken Hill, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the prospect to work on diverse construction projects in our thriving regional community. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality carpentry and skilled labour work across residential and commercial building projects. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to the success of our projects and the reputation of our company.
Key responsibilities
- Execute carpentry work including framing, structural work, and finishing carpentry on residential and commercial projects
- Prepare and maintain construction sites, ensuring work areas are safe, clean and organised
- Accurately measure, cut and install timber, plasterboard, and other building materials to specification
- Interpret building plans, specifications and technical drawings to ensure work meets required standards
- Operate hand and power tools safely and competently in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and team members to meet project timelines and quality standards
- Maintain all tools and equipment in good working condition
- Adhere to all relevant building codes, safety regulations and company policies
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a carpenter and/or skilled labourer in the building trades industry
- Solid knowledge of carpentry techniques, building materials and construction practices
- Competency with hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Current or ability to obtain relevant qualifications in building and construction trades
- Valid driver's licence (desirable for site mobility)
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
