The Research Assistant will join the Brisbane Colorectal Research Unit, one of Australia's largest and most influential minimally invasive colorectal surgery research programs, based at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Working closely with colorectal surgeons, research coordinators and clinical researchers, the role supports a broad portfolio of clinical trials and research projects focused on colorectal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease and related fields.

The successful candidate will contribute to the coordination of research studies from concept through to ethics and governance approvals, manage clinical research data, liaise with researchers and regulatory bodies, and support the delivery of high-quality clinical trials. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative research environment with strong links to leading clinical and research institutions, while contributing to meaningful advancements in patient care and surgical research.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Coordinate research projects, ethics applications and governance submissions from development through to approval.
- Collect, manage and maintain large clinical research datasets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Liaise with researchers, clinicians,



registrars, fellows and external organisations to support research activities.
- Maintain regulatory documentation and ensure research activities comply with Good Clinical Practice and ethical standards.
- Prepare research reports, monitor study progress and contribute to the growth of the colorectal clinical trials program.
