Legal Counsel – Part Time 3 Days Per Week

Our client is a mission-driven, ASX-listed fintech group helping everyday Australians manage cash-flow challenges.

We're seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the leadership team in a standalone role. This is a rare opportunity to lead the legal agenda for a listed fintech — partnering closely with the CEO, CFO and Board to shape strategy while safeguarding compliance and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Act as principal legal advisor to the CEO, CFO and Board on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters
n
Own corporate governance and company secretarial functions
n
Advise on ASX listing rules, financial services regulation, privacy and consumer law
n
Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts and strategic partnerships
n
Liaise with external counsel and regulators (ASIC, ASX, OAIC, AFCA)
n
Support product development, partnerships and M&A; activity
n
Partner with the Risk & Compliance function to strengthen governance frameworks
n




Monitor regulatory change and drive proactive compliance
n

About You
n
n
5+ years PQE, ideally within financial services, fintech or an ASX-listed environment
n
Robust grounding in corporate, financial services, consumer and privacy law
n
Commercially minded, with a pragmatic approach to risk and opportunity
n
Confident partnering with senior executives and Board members
n
Comfortable as a standalone legal function — hands-on and proactive
n
Collaborative, ethical, and motivated by financial inclusion
n
