Your Role as Specialist – Community Fundraising and Events

As the Specialist – Community Fundraising and Events, you’ll develop and deliver community fundraising, peer-to-peer campaigns, and events that build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to fundraising growth and revenue targets across Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivering community fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising, and engagement initiatives that grow participation, supporter engagement, and revenue.
- Planning, coordinating, and evaluating fundraising events to ensure successful delivery and positive participant experiences.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with community fundraisers, schools, community groups, and supporters.
- Developing and implementing supporter stewardship activities to increase retention, advocacy, and ongoing fundraising involvement.
- Identifying and growing new community fundraising and engagement opportunities across Queensland.
- Achieving fundraising targets by expanding community fundraising activities, events, and supporter networks.
- Representing WMQ in the community and monitoring fundraising performance to strengthen relationships, generate opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in community fundraising, community engagement, or a similar role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector. Proven ability to achieve fundraising targets and successfully deliver fundraising campaigns, initiatives, or events. Solid relationship-building, networking, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders. Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively within a team.

Essential Requirements

- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work.
