We are looking for a reliable, hands‑on Waterjet Machine Operator to join our Clyde workshop.

About the role

You will be responsible for setting up and operating our waterjet cutting machine, producing accurate components and helping keep work moving efficiently through the workshop.

This role suits someone who takes pride in their workmanship, looks after their equipment and can work independently while communicating with the wider fabrication team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Setting up and operating the waterjet machine, including preparing and loading cutting files, nesting parts and selecting suitable cutting settings.

Reading engineering drawings and job instructions, and confirming material type, thickness and quantities before cutting.

Safely loading and unloading materials, identifying completed parts and organising offcuts to minimise waste.

Checking finished components against drawings and quality requirements, including dimensions and cut quality.

Carrying out routine machine checks, cleaning and operator maintenance, monitoring consumables and reporting faults.





Coordinating job priorities with the workshop team and assisting with deburring, material preparation and general workshop duties when required.

About you

You are practical, organised and dependable, with good attention to detail and a strong commitment to protected working practices.

We are looking for:

Previous waterjet operating experience, or relevant experience with CNC laser, plasma or similar cutting equipment.

The ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment to check finished parts.

Confidence working with sheet and plate materials, with an understanding of material identification and careful handling.

A proactive approach to quality, housekeeping, equipment care and meeting production requirements.

Experience with CAD/CAM or nesting software, stainless steel fabrication and a forklift licence would be an advantage. Please include the machines and software you have used in your application.

You will work on varied industrial projects alongside an experienced engineering and fabrication team. Your work will contribute directly to finished components and assemblies, with opportunities to apply your practical skills and help improve cutting quality, material utilisation and workshop efficiency.
