The role

In this exciting role as aAccounts Receivable Officer at mecwacare, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation’s revenue and supporting its financial sustainability. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager and working within the Finance & Enabling Services team, you will manage end-to-end accounts receivable across Residential Aged Care, Community Care, NDIS, CHSP and Support at Home programs. This role is responsible for accurate billing, government subsidy claiming, debtor management, reconciliations and revenue reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and funding frameworks.

About you

You are an experienced and proactive accounts receivable professional who understands the complexity of aged care and disability funding models. You are detail-oriented, highly organised and comfortable working in a high-volume, compliance-driven environment. You build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and approach sensitive billing and collections conversations with empathy and professionalism. What you bring

- A Diploma or Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in an accounts receivable role within aged care, community services, disability (NDIS) or a comparable health services environment, with proven exposure to high-volume billing,



debtor management and revenue reconciliation across multiple funding streams.
- Proven capability to manage end-to-end accounts receivable functions, including client onboarding, invoice generation, credit note processing, payment allocation, aged debtor monitoring, negotiation of payment arrangements and escalation of overdue accounts in line with organisational policy and compliance requirements.
- Experience preparing and lodging government claims (e.g., Medicare, DVA, NDIS, CHSP or similar), ensuring submissions are timely, accurate and compliant, with a strong focus on minimising rejections, maintaining clean claim rates and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Advanced attention to detail and reconciliation skills, including experience reconciling subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, preparing month-end reports, analysing aged debtors and contributing to year-end processes such as provisions for doubtful debts and audit documentation.
- Strong understanding of internal controls across billing, receipting and cash management cycles, with the ability to identify control gaps, document processes and contribute to strengthening compliance and audit readiness.

Desirable Criteria

- Strong and practical understanding of aged care and community funding frameworks, including residential aged care accommodation payments and daily care fees,



NDIS participant invoicing and bulk claiming, CHSP client contributions and the Support at Home programme, with the ability to interpret funding rules and apply them accurately to billing and claiming processes.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics Great Plains, Workday or similar platforms) and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools to support reporting and decision-making.
