Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking Locum General Medicine Registrars to provide cover across high-demand General Medicine departments.

This role is suited to PGY3+ doctors with General Medicine experience who are confident supporting acute medical admissions, inpatient wards, consults, documentation and handover.
You will work under the guidance of experienced consultants, with opportunities for senior responsibilities depending on your level and experience.

Clinical Environment

You will provide General Medicine Registrar cover within Western Sydney LHD.

- Busy medicine units – work in high-demand departments with access to subspecialty support
- Broad medical exposure – manage complex and acute General Medicine presentations
- Structured ward environment – participate in ward rounds, team-based care and handover
- Clear escalation pathways – work with consultant support and defined escalation processes
- Training pathway value – suitable for doctors working toward RACP Basic Physician Training or transition to advanced training

Patient Demographic

You will support a broad General Medicine patient mix, including adults, older patients, acute medical admissions, complex comorbidities, chronic disease presentations and patients requiring assessment, inpatient care, consultation,



escalation or discharge planning.

Key Duties

- Support acute medical admissions and inpatient ward care
- Review and manage General Medicine patients within scope
- Assist with consults, documentation and handover
- Support patient management plans and discharge planning
- Escalate patient concerns appropriately to consultantsWork collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and hospital teams

Requirements

- Current AHPRA General Registration
- PGY3+ with recent General Medicine experience
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing
- Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
- Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
