General Manager Quarry, Concrete & Crushing

LS Quarry is a family owned business operating for over 20 years in North East Victoria and we are growing rapidly with approximately 120 staff. Along with operations from our quarry servicing Victoria wide, we also provide offsite mobile crushing and screening servicesand the recently added concrete batching arm. About the Role: General Manager Quarry, Concrete & Crushing

A unique chance is available at LS Quarry for a General Manager to help build and steer the increased work demands as we grow!

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead the Quarry, Concrete, Crushing and Maintenance Teams by championing innovation, collaboration and safety leadership. You will be across all the details, quick to adapt, be prepared to try new things.

As the key driver of our teams, you will :

- Promote a strong safety culture
- Monitor and control production to ensure product is in detailed quality specifications
- Maintain a competent and flexible workforce
- Ensure daily production targets are met
- Arrange services provided by third parties as required
- Control and continuously reduce costs
- Work hand in glove with the Sales Manager to create and fill a pipeline of future work




- Work with both Production and Maintenance Teams to ensure maximum plant up-time occurs
- Work with Maintenance Superintendent to ensure our Asset and Preventative Maintence regularly prioritises
- Liaise with the Transport and Quarry Managers to ensure customers orders are fulfilled as required
- Strategise the up-skilling of the team and assist employment of staff and their wellbeing
- Provide the strategic lens that allows our operational leaders to thrive

Essential skills and experience :

- Senior Quarry & Concrete Management experience
- Experience with multi-site operations and budgets
- Competence in leading the Heavy Vehicle Operations attributed to Quarries and Concrete sites
- 3 years or more experience as a leader managing all production and cost functions in a manufacturing background

Desirable skills and experience :

- Advanced analytical and computer skills
- Multi site experience within extractive/batching/crushing industry
- Quality assurance/Lean Manufacturing expertise
- Significant Leadership and Management experiences
