Chief Operations Officer - Investment Management

Kaizen Recruitment is partnering with an established and ambitious funds management business to appoint a Chief Operating Officer.

With a strong investment capability, an entrepreneurial leadership team and a explicit strategy for continued growth, the business is entering an exciting phase of its development.

This newly available executive leadership opportunity will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation has the people, leadership capability, systems and operating structures required to deliver on its ambitions.
Working closely with the executive leadership team, the COO will bridge the gap between business strategy and execution, translating strategic priorities into practical initiatives and measurable outcomes.
Importantly, this is not simply a traditional investment operations role. It is a broad commercial leadership position with a significant emphasis on people and culture, organisational development and business transformation.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will:

- Lead the organisation's people and culture strategy, strengthening leadership capability, employee engagement, performance and talent development.
- Partner with the executive team to translate strategic priorities into clear business plans and operational outcomes.
- Develop the organisational structure, processes and governance frameworks required to support continued growth.
- Drive operational improvement, ensuring the business operates efficiently and effectively as it scales.
- Oversee key business systems, technology initiatives and opportunities to leverage automation and AI.
- Lead strategic projects and organisational change initiatives across the business.
- Strengthen accountability, collaboration and decision-making across the leadership team.




- Provide operational insights and reporting to the executive team and Board.

About You
We are seeking an energetic, commercially astute executive who enjoys building businesses, developing people and making things happen.
You will bring a strong track record of leadership within financial services, investment management or a similarly sophisticated professional services environment.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:

- Experience in a senior operational, commercial, transformation or executive leadership position.
- Strong people leadership capabilities, with a genuine passion for building high-performing teams and organisational culture.
- The ability to translate business strategy into practical plans and successful execution.
- Experience supporting the growth and development of an entrepreneurial or scaling business.
- Sound commercial judgement and an understanding of governance, risk and operational effectiveness.
- An interest in technology, innovation and improving business productivity.
- The confidence to work closely with founders, senior executives and Board members while remaining hands-on and delivery-focused.
