Due to the successful appointment of our current Acting Area Principal to a substantive leadership position within Edmund Rice Education Australia Flexible Schools Ltd (EREAFSL), an exciting opportunity now exists for an exceptional educational leader to join our South East Queensland region as an Area Principal .

This is more than a school leadership role. It is an opportunity to lead a community of schools dedicated to walking alongside young people who have experienced educational disruption, social exclusion, trauma, or disadvantage, and supporting them to thrive.

As an Area Principal, you will provide strategic, educational and operational leadership across multiple Flexible School campuses, working closely with campus leadership teams, regional staff and national leaders to ensure outstanding outcomes for young people while advancing the mission and vision of EREAFSL.

About the Role

The Area Principal provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of Flexible Schools and is responsible for:

- Leading and supporting Heads of Campus and school leadership teams
- Driving educational excellence and continuous improvement
- Embedding the EREAFSL Flexi Practice Framework
- Strengthening outcomes for young people
- Building capability across teams
- Ensuring effective governance, compliance and risk management
- Facilitating strong partnerships with families, communities and external stakeholders
- Contributing to regional and national strategic priorities

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd currently educates over 2,700 young people in 22 Adaptable Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and two Special Education Services Schools in NSW, with approximately 800 staff nationally. Flexi schools serve young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, to co-create a Common Ground using Operation by Principles, in which the principles of Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal are embedded. Our special schools serve young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.

The successful applicant must possess (or be eligible to obtain) and maintain a current Working With Children Check.
